Forever, It Lasts

I hold you

every day

and I think to myself

I can’t imagine

a life

without

adoring you,

my love.

the phrase I hear

again and again

“time flies,” still—

a day, a week,

spent

this feeling of

forever…

it endures.

Forever, It Lasts, presents a world where time collapses. Early parenthood uniquely transforms how we perceive and experience time. It is a period of life where devotion is as consuming as the day-to-day exhaustion; time feels different each day, and how we feel about it asks us to exist in contradictions.

The multiplicity of emotions and inherent partiality of this reality are expressed through contrapuntal poetry, intended to interweave multiple sentiments. As a result, the reader gains a different perspective by reading the columns independently and interdependently.

The photographs challenge and bear witness to the paradox of experiencing time as both fast and slow. Combined, the project explores how unrelenting repetition and unconditional adoration are both present, valid, and worth acknowledging.
